Projected AP Top 25 College Football Rankings after Week 4: No. 14-13

14. Coastal Carolina Chanticleers

Someone go give the UMass kicker a hug for me as he put up three points, which happened to be the only thing the Minutemen did all day on the scoreboard against the still-rolling Chanticleers. Grayson McCall and his cohorts put up a monstrous effort in the 53-3 win as one of the best Group of 5 teams in the country barely broke a sweat against one of the worst overall teams in the nation.

McCall seemingly has taken a big step forward in his ability as a quarterback and is capable of doing more than just running RPOs well. More than that, Coastal still has an attacking defense and great offensive talent to overwhelm most everyone they play. With that said, it was good to see them show that after a surprising scare against Buffalo last week.

13. BYU Cougars

Nothing to worry about felt like the mantra for BYU heading into Week 4 and throughout their game on Saturday night. After taking down two then-ranked teams from the Pac-12 in consecutive weeks, the Cougars were back in Provo once again, but this time were only facing a South Florida team coming into the matchup at only 1-2 and not looking all that great.

BYU has rebounded from losing Zach Wilson far better than expected and that was even further on display in Week 4 as they sat Jaren Hall with an injury for Baylor Romney. That didn’t hinder BYU’s offense all that much and they remain perfect with some nice wins to claim already in their pocket.
