10 RB sleepers to target for fantasy football Week 3
By Nick Villano
5. Melvin Gordon, Denver Broncos
Melvin Gordon stays on this list despite not living up to the expectations in Week 2. Javonte Williams really came out of the gates in Week 2, and the Broncos are showing they are willing to give him the ball. Here’s the thing; they are facing the Jets this week. This is still a bad Jets team, and this looks like a pretty good Broncos team. Gordon and Williams should be getting plenty of carries all around the field.
Gordon had that huge run in Week 1, and that is hard to replicate, but the Jets allowed touchdown runs to James White and Damien Harris last week. This defense can easily allow touchdowns to multiple options out of the backfield. Gordon is definitely a flex play only, but he’s an interesting option in a Broncos offense that is still trying to stay on top of the AFC West.
4. Myles Gaskin, Miami Dolphins
Tua Tagovailoa was ruled out already for Week 3 with a rib injury. After last week’s dreadful performance by the Miami Dolphins, most fantasy owners are staying far away from anyone on the Miami Dolphins. Gaskin seems like a bad play especially since teams will go all out to stop the run and force Jacoby Brissett to beat them.
That’s not a bad thing. The Dolphins’ offense is “take the top off” when they have Will Fuller and Jalen Waddle in the lineup. For the first time this season, that’s the case in Week 3. Brian Flores is putting together a game plan to really surprise the Raiders. Everyone is on the Las Vegas bandwagon right now. Miami is not the “sexy” wild card team after escaping the Patriots and getting beaten to the barn by the Bills. Let everyone ignore the Dolphins while Gaskin has a nice day. The Raiders have allowed three touchdown runs to three different players, and none of them were Najee Harris who had a receiving touchdown last week.
