Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 1. 16. Brian Daboll. player. Offensive Coordinator. Buffalo Bills

Brian Daboll has proven he can elevate talented quarterbacks in Buffalo

Along with Bieniemy, Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll is at the very top of the list for potential first-time NFL head coaches. He may benefit tremendously from the outstanding culture head coach Sean McDermott has created in Orchard Park, as well as the many great draft picks made by general manager Brandon Beane. However, Daboll is why Josh Allen is now elite.

Allen is more talented than Fields, but he also was considerably the more raw prospect coming out of college. Simply put, Daboll has the coaching acumen to get the most out of his quarterback. Allen is a top-10 player in the league in year four out of Wyoming. He can turn Fields into the next Steve Young. If Daboll can move the sticks in Buffalo, he can so move the sticks in the Windy City.

While there will be some pushback when it comes to hiring Daboll, he has earned his opportunity to be an NFL head coach. More importantly, he has shown over the last half decade he can be the architect behind an elite offense, whether that be with the Bills the last few years or during his brief stop working for Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide. Daboll is the right man for this job.

What other head-coaching candidates should the Bears consider if they move off Nagy in 2022?
