The Eagles’ linebacker corps is just sad to watch. Is it any wonder the Cowboys had their way with the defense? Is it a surprise to see Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard take whatever they wanted in the run game?

There are a lot of reasons Dallas was able to put up 41 points on Philadelphia. Blame can be cast in every direction. Still, someone has to pay for what went down on Monday night.

Eric Wilson is as good a figure to replace as any. The linebacker had six tackles against Dallas and failed to make any sort of positive impact.

Wilson was an undrafted free agent in 2017 and spent his first four seasons with the Vikings. There’s a reason they didn’t bring him back for another year. He’s not a starting-caliber player in the NFL.

Philadelphia doesn’t have a lot of great options at linebacker, so they may be forced to persist with Wilson. It just won’t get any prettier if they do.
