Aaron Rodgers will have a big day

It’s become painfully obvious that the Steelers were far too optimistic about their secondary coming into the season. Pittsburgh made no effort to replace Mike Hilton or Steven Nelson.

Instead, James Pierre and Tre Norwood have become the defacto depth pieces in the secondary. Both did have great games in Week 1 against Buffalo, but the last two weeks have been ugly for the Steelers on the back end.

Pierre was highly praised by the Steelers in camp, but when a guy who had less than 40 regular season snaps entering the year is one of your main secondary pieces, that’s an issue. They traded for Ahkello Witherspoon but he has yet to make any sort of real impact.

Outside of Joe Haden and Cam Sutton, Pittsburgh doesn’t have a consistent, reliable cornerback. The Steelers tried putting band-aids on a bullet wound in the secondary, and it’s begun to show.

A fragile secondary is the last thing you want to have when facing Aaron Rodgers, especially when he’s in the midst of playing really well. Robert Tonyan is a guy to watch out for in this game, as well. The Steelers will key in on Davante Adams, which will give the big tight end more opportunities.
