5 bold predictions for the Steelers against the Packers
The passing game will remain stale
Following the Week 3 loss to the Bengals, Roethlisberger said that the Steelers believe in the offense and that they aren’t going to change who they are.
If by that he means they aren’t going to stray away from swing passes and screens behind the line of scrimmage, this is going to be another long day.
Whether Pittsburgh and Roethlisberger want to admit it or not, his arm is shot. Look at his passing charts from each of the first three weeks to get the whole story- the Steelers don’t throw it deep between the numbers. They simply refuse to do it.
Combine that with the bad offensive line play, a lot of Ben’s lackluster play is just mental at this point. He doesn’t have any time to throw, he’s constantly being hit, and the Steelers once again lead the NFL in drops. When you’re an aging quarterback, those things weigh on you.
Ben isn’t without blame here, because he has made several bad decisions with the football. It does need to be taken into account, though, that neither his offensive line or his receivers have given him much help, and their record shows that.
