2. Darren Waller hits pay dirt twice in the red zone for the Raiders’ offense

It has been established. Darren Waller is one of the very best tight ends in the NFL. His resurgence as a member of the Raiders has been a fantastic storyline. However, he only has one touchdown reception in three games this season for the Silver and Black. Look for him to be a big reason why the Raiders stay alive in a tough spot vs. the Chargers on Monday Night Football this week.

Though Renfrow will lead the way with receptions and yardage vs. the Bolts, Waller will be an important part of the offense, especially in the red zone. While the new Chargers head coach Brandon Staley will do a great job of denying the ball to Waller between the 20s all evening, he is too talented to be denied in the red zone. Waller scores not one, but two touchdowns this week.

Carr being able to trust Waller on two separate third-and-goal situations will only feed the narrative of this being a very special season for the Raiders. Las Vegas will largely be outplayed by the Chargers in this one, but repeated success on third down and in the red zone will be paramount in the Raiders’ attempt to stay perfect. Waller will be the Raiders’ hero in this game.

Look for Waller to have around five catches for 65 yards and two huge red-zone touchdown grabs.
