It will be another long day for Ben Roethlisberger

One above average performance doesn’t change the fact that the Steelers offensive line is bad. The Packers don’t have the pass rush that Denver does, and that will be on display Sunday.

Joel Haeg was an upgrade over Chuks Okorafor, as he kept Roethlisberger mostly clean against Green Bay. With Zach Banner’s status still unknown, Haeg is likely to get his second consecutive start.

The Broncos are fifth in the NFL with 11 sacks. Von Miller will get to Roethlisberger, it’s just a matter of how often he does it.

It’s also evident that Ben isn’t capable of putting up quality performances anymore. The offensive line carries a lot of that burden, but they weren’t the issue against Green Bay.

Roethlisberger has missed big throws, continues missing reads, and has made a lot of bad decisions with the football. He is an unquestioned Hall of Fame quarterback. At some point, though, it needs to be acknowledged that the gunslinger is out of bullets. Right now, the Steelers are just throwing the gun and praying.

It’s doubtful that a healthy Big Ben gets benched, but Pittsburgh should at the very least weigh their options.
