Kris Bryant, Utility

From one former Chicago Cub to another, Kris Bryant should be on the Yankees’ radar this Hot Stove season.

After coming off a horrendous 2020 season, Bryant started off strong with the Cubs this season, where he recorded a .267 batting average and .861 OPS along with 18 home runs and 51 RBI. More importantly, he managed to play third base, first base and all three outfield positions to become the ultimate utility man that postseason teams would desire. That strategy worked out for the Cubs, because the San Francisco Giants came calling and secured a trade.

Bryant put up solid numbers, as he posted seven home runs, 22 RBI and 49 hits while slashing .262/.344/.444 in 51 games with the Giants. His play helped the Giants clinch the NL West for the first time since 2012.

The Yankees need a solid bat that they can keep in the lineup every day. Bringing in Bryant, who can play nearly every position, would be a great get for the Yankees. If this postseason proved anything, it is that the team still needs to add hitters to their roster.
