5 bold predictions for Browns against Chargers
By John Buhler
2. Kareem Hunt scores a rushing and a receiving touchdown vs. the Bolts
One of the very best things the Browns have going for them this season is they have arguably the best running back tandem in football. The combination of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt is utterly fantastic. While Chubb is very much the featured back for the Browns, Hunt has to be the best No. 2 running back in the NFL. He will be a big reason why the Browns have a great shot at being 4-1.
While the amount of yardage he puts up will not matter a ton in this game, what will is his ability to get into the end zone in multiple ways. Look for him to hit pay dirt twice vs. the Bolts’ defense, once by ground and once through the air. This may be Mayfield’s only touchdown pass on the afternoon, but he and Hunt will make it count. It will play a huge part in the Browns’ comeback.
As far as the other touchdown on the ledger for Hunt in this one, it will be in a goal-to-go situation for Cleveland. On a play when the Browns need him to get six points, Hunt will do just that. The highly-touted Cleveland offensive line will open up a gaping hole for him to sprint through to pay dirt. Without Hunt’s great afternoon, there is no way the Browns have any chance at winning here.
While Hunt will have a great game, he will not be able to do it alone in the Browns’ backfield.
