College football expert picks for Week 6: No. 15-11

15 Coastal Carolina (-20.0) at Arkansas State – Under 73.0 (Thursday Night)

Frankly, Arkansas State has been a bad football team this season and Coastal Carolina has been quite the opposite. I understand the injury status of Grayson McCall is likely affecting this line but the Chanticleers are just that much better than the Red Wolves. And on top of that, if McCall is limited or sidelined, that only makes me more confident that these two teams don’t get up to a particularly high point total.

14 Notre Dame at Virginia Tech (+1.0) – Under 47.5

This just feels like a problem spot for Notre Dame. They are coming off a huge matchup with Cincinnati, which they lost, and now have to go to Lane Stadium to face a strong Hokies team. Moreover, Virginia Tech has proven they can win ugly and with physicality in the trenches, which could be a problem for the Irish as their lines remain an issue. In Blacksburg, give me the Hokies in a defensive struggle to pull this one out.

11 Michigan State (-5.5) at Rutgers – Under 51.0

Michigan State doesn’t have the offense that Ohio State does but the Buckeyes showed that the Scarlet Knights can be gotten with the right amount of offense. The Spartans can move the ball in any way they please and should be able to do so well. This is a small line that they should cover easily and I don’t see Rutgers mounting much of an attack, which helps the under play.
