FS1 cut to commercial at an awful time during the seventh inning of the Chicago White Sox vs. Houston Astros ALDS Game 1.

It’s only Game 1 of the ALDS matchup between the Chicago White Sox and Houston Astros, but Fox Sports 1 isn’t making a good name for itself. October baseball is the most anticipated time of the year for MLB fans and viewers don’t want to miss a second of the action. It’s looking like Houston is going to take the 1-0 series lead, but that doesn’t mean that people prefer to see commercials over the game.

FS1 cut to a Geico commercial in the top of the seventh inning right as Chicago’s Yasmani Grandal hit a ground ball to second base with no outs and a runner on first.

FS1 cuts to commercial in the middle of a double play during the Chicago White Sox and Houston Astros ALDS Game

Did Fox Sports 1 miss the memo that commercials aren’t supposed to be played during live action? Apparently so.

FS1 cut back just in time for viewers to hear the broadcasters say that Astros second baseman Jose Altuve helped to flip a double play. Eh, that was sort of important.

Imagine if Altuve would’ve made an error that would’ve resulted in Chicago having two runners on base with zero outs down 6-0. While Houston fans probably would’ve been okay with not seeing that, White Sox fans haven’t been able to see many good things happen in Thursday’s game.

Hopefully FS1 will be able to redeem itself tonight when the Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays take the field in Florida.

These are the kinds of things that don’t need to be happening on national television during the postseason, Fox Sports 1.
