Bold Prediction #3: New Orleans is primed for big week offensively

The New Orleans Saints offense has been inconsistent at best. Jameis Winston had five touchdowns in Week 1, but he’s had three touchdowns ever since. It looks like Sean Payton is trying harder to avoid interceptions than allowing Winston to open the offense up and go for it. There’s an argument for that since Winston has a past with turnovers, but it’s also taking away what he does best.

The Saints are facing the Washington Football Team, a team that can’t stop anyone so far this season. They allow the most points to quarterbacks each week. They allow the third-most points to wide receivers, and they are middle of the pack when it comes to points allowed to running backs. Their “strength” now needs to focus all of its attention on Alvin Kamara.

With all the focus on stopping the weapon that is Kamara, expect Sean Payton to finally let Winston let loose. This could finally show the production we expected from Marquez Callaway all season. He had a touchdown in Week 3 and caught two balls for 74 yards in Week 4.

The Saints need to do more offensively in a division that is up for grabs. The Bucs aren’t the juggernaut some thought, the Panthers are a shaky 3-1 at best, and the Falcons are a mess. Winston was super safe for a month, but now that we know he isn’t an interception machine anymore, it’s time to at least take some chances downfield.
