5. Are the Warriors title contenders?

This one is hard to answer now. The Western Conference is just as good as ever, with the Phoenix Suns returning a really good team, the Los Angeles Lakers bringing back a motivated LeBron James, a Clippers team that is still star-studded, and a Dallas Mavericks team that is waiting for Luka Doncic to take that next step. Where do the Warriors fit in that mix?

There are some analysts that like the Warriors’ chances in the NBA this year. There isn’t a logical contender like there has been in years past. The Milwaukee Bucks are the defending champions, but a repeat doesn’t seem as likely as with previous champs. In fact, Wynnbet has them at 9/1 to repeat. The Brooklyn Nets and Lakers are ahead of them.

The Warriors are right behind the Bucks, showing the money is following them. That’s a lot riding on a team that missed the playoffs last season. They have the fourth-best odds to win it all. People really think this team is a contender, and that comes with wild overreactions all season long. Lose a nail-biter to the Knicks? It means you’re the top story on First Take. Get destroyed at home by the Lakers? See all of Twitter have a cow at the same time.

The pressure is on for this team, but they have to prove they are an elite franchise and fast. However, it might behoove them to fall under the radar a little bit.
