Chicago White Sox fans booing closer Craig Kimbrel during the pre-game intros is a bad look.

Down 0-2 in their best-of-five ALDS series vs. the Houston Astros, some Chicago White Sox fans expressed their displeasure of recently acquired closer Craig Kimbrel during the pre-game intros.

Kimbrel may only be a short-term rental for the South Siders, but he is a future hall of fame closer. While his run with the White Sox after being traded over from the crosstown rival Chicago Cubs has not gone according to plan, booing him during the pre-game introductions ahead of an elimination game is horrendous karma. He’s no Nick Madrigal, but come on. Do better, Chicago.

The White Sox are too good of a team to get swept out of the ALDS by the Astros this October.

Chicago White Sox fans shamelessly boo closer Craig Kimbrel ahead of Game 3

Being on the brink of elimination against a team that straight-up refuses to die in the Astros is tough sledding. It will be even harder to win three straight to advance to the ALCS when the star closer does not feel the love from his fan base. While the White Sox fans can feel how ever they want about Kimbrel since he was dealt to them, booing him ahead of a game like this is not good.

If the White Sox get swept out of the postseason, this was a bad omen for them out of the gate.
