College football upset pick Week 7, No. 1: Georgia Bulldogs

Rank: 1 | Opponent: 11 Kentucky Wildcats | Time: Saturday, Oct. 16, 3:30 p.m. ET

Just going to get this out in the open from the jump: If I were a betting man, my money would be on Georgia not losing a game this season. They are better than Alabama and every other team in the country. At this point, anything short of not winning a National Championship with a perfect record should be considered a disappointment in Athens.

In this absurd season in which college football upsets have been piling up week by week, the fact of the matter is that no team, not even Georgia, feels entirely safe. So as the Dawgs welcome a surging and undefeated Kentucky team between the hedges on Saturday afternoon, we’re going to put them in danger.

Oddsmakers don’t feel that way, it would seem, as the Bulldogs are 22-point favorites at home in this game. However, you could make the argument that no team they’ve played yet offers the battle in the trenches that Kentucky can. UGA clearly still has the advantage there with their elite talent up front but, even then, weird things can happen and the Wildcats are capable.

More importantly, it seems as if JT Daniels might miss another game this week. Stetson Bennett has been underrated and phenomenal in relief but that doesn’t change that he’s more limited than the injured quarterback. That means that a letdown game could be coming, which could cost the Dawgs against a disciplined, methodical and extremely dangerous Kentucky team.
