Ezekiel Elliott will have another big day

The Cowboys star running back is averaging 127 yards over his last two games. His resurrection after a disappointing 2020 has given the Cowboys offense balance. Elliott ran for a career-low 979 yards in 2020- he’s already nearly halfway to that mark with 452 yards. Additionally, he’s one score away from equaling his touchdown total from last year. Elliott is doing it while averaging over five yards per carry, as well.

The Cowboys have the second best run game in the NFL, averaging just under 173 yards per contest. New England is a middle of the pack team when it comes to defending the run. The Cowboys will give the Patriots their toughest test of the year. While they held Tom Brady and the Buccaneers somewhat in check, it was in the midst of a driving rainstorm. Plus, Tampa Bay is one of the worst teams in the NFL when it comes to running the ball.

The balanced attack of the Cowboys will lead to numerous big plays. Combined with the lack of run game on offense, the Patriots will struggle to keep pace with the NFC East favorites, and fall to 2-4 on the season.
