Bold Prediction #2: Davis Mills is startable again

Startable is a relative term here, but so many leagues are moving towards “superflex” territory where there are two relevant quarterbacks on your roster every week. In those leagues, Davis Mills is an option for you. Yes, he’s facing the Houston Texans and in all likelihood last week might have been an absolute fluke, but his matchup is salivating this week.

The Indianapolis Colts just watched Lamar Jackson put up the best throwing performance of his career. He had 444 yards and two touchdowns while adding 62 yards on the ground. We’ve never seen a primary runner do that to a defense. Russell Wilson had four touchdowns and Ryan Tannehill hit paydirt three times against the Colts. Heck, even Jacoby Brissett had two touchdowns against this defense.

No quarterback was less than startable against the Indianapolis Colts. After the confidence-inducing clinic Mills pulled last week against the Patriots, he isn’t going to be the first to fall below this expectation. Chris Moore and Chris Conley both looked good on Sunday, which is very important for a team that has been desperate to find a competent receiver behind Brandin Cooks. Mills seems like a long shot when looking at the rest of the slate, but he deserves at least a second look and maybe a waiver-wire pickup.
