1. RP Bryan Shaw

Shaw took the money and left the Indians for a big contract with the Colorado Rockies after the 2017 season. It did not go well over two seasons in the Mile High City (5.61 ERA over 131 total appearances), and it wasn’t any better in a brief run with the Seattle Mariners in the shortened 2020 season (18.00 ERA over six appearances).

Shaw came back to Cleveland on a minor league deal last offseason. Over 81 appearances thus far, with incentives for reaching appearance numbers, he’s got a 3.41 ERA, two saves along with a rebound in his strikeout rate (8.3 K/9). But walks have still been an issue (4.4 BB/9).

But all in all Shaw has rebounded nicely upon being back with the Indians this year, and they probably should have traded him at the deadline. Somebody will surely give him a major league contract this offseason, and naturally price Cleveland out of keeping him around in terms of guaranteed money and perhaps giving him more than one year (via an option if nothing else).
