College football rankings 2021: Projected Week 8 AP Top 25 after Iowa gets upset & Alabama, Georgia roll
Projected AP Top 25 college football rankings after Week 7: No. 20-19
20. Baylor Bears
Baylor had an amazing Saturday. The Bears picked up an impressive 38-24 win at home over BYU. With the win, the Bears should jump into the top 25 and maybe as high as this. Of all the teams that entered the week on the outside, Baylor was one of the most impressive in victory.
Because of their loss to Oklahoma State a few weeks ago that gave them their first loss of the season, they fell out of the AP Top 25. This win should be enough to not only get them back inside but all the way into the top 20. They have done enough on the season to earn that respect as one of the Big 12’s best teams.
19. Auburn Tigers
Welcome back to the top 25 for the Auburn Tigers. In an important SEC road game, the Tigers handed number-17 Arkansas a 38-23 loss. It’s a loss that should move Auburn in and move Arkansas out after a third-straight loss. Even better for the Tigers is the fact they get some quality opponents upcoming that will give them the chance to move higher back into the rankings.
Upcoming games against Ole Miss and Texas A&M will likely tell us which direction the Tigers are likely to go this season. If they pull out a couple of wins, they could poise themselves to find the right chemistry heading into the Iron Bowl later in the year.
