Doug Pederson. 1. 54. Scouting Report. Former Head Coach. Philadelphia Eagles. player. Pick Analysis

Doug Pederson is a Super Bowl-winning head coach available on the market

This is a tad out-of-the-box, but it might be what the Broncos need. Doug Pederson opted to spend the 2021 season out of football in an effort to regroup after being fired by the Philadelphia Eagles extremely late into the offseason cycle. Though it got nasty in the City of Brotherly Love at the end, Pederson is a Super Bowl-winning head coach, and that is what the Broncos aspire to.

While some organizations may be reluctant to hiring a retread, going with a first-time head coach has blown up in the Broncos’ face more often than not. Pederson may not be John Fox or Gary Kubiak upon arrival in Denver, but he is not going to be Fangio, Vance Joseph or god forbid, Josh McDaniels. He will bring a level of professionalism and coaching savvy this organization needs.

It would be a cool opportunity for Pederson to compete with his mentor Andy Reid twice annually for the foreseeable future. Simply put, if you give Pederson a three-year contract, he will have the Broncos back in the AFC playoffs before it is time to renegotiate. He is a head coach Paton can trust to develop the players he drafts for him. Expect the Broncos to give Pederson a look here.

What other head-coaching candidates make sense to replace Fangio as the face of the Broncos?
