2. Joe Judge, New York Giants

When Joe Judge got hired, the response from many NFL fans was not particularly favorable. However, he and defensive coordinator Patrick Graham started to make fans eat their words at the end of last year. The New York Giants had one of the better defensive performances of the second half of the 2020 season and seemed to have something to build on.

And though the wins weren’t necessarily coming, the improvement of quarterback Daniel Jones in year three seemingly improved Judge’s standing with the Giants and the fanbase. However, everything is starting to turn a bit negative of late.

While last week’s blowout loss to the Cowboys was unsightly, they also lost a ton of players due to injury. Jones was one of them, but he returned in Week 6 and looked like the turnover-prone player who many Giants fans questioned the viability of as a long-term investment for the franchise. Just as importantly, Big Blue dropped to 1-5 on the year with a 27-point loss to the Rams.

Unless Judge is able to prove that he can make the G-Men, a team that has far better talent in 2021 than in years past, a more competitive team that can grab victories on occasion, there are going to be necessary conversations about how long the team can keep him around.
