4. The Cleveland pass rush will generate a ton of pressure from the start

What will be a saving grace for the Browns in this game is the defense will answer the call, step up and muddy it up a bit to give their depleted offense a chance. Though the Broncos’ offensive line is an improved unit to some extent, Cleveland still has the advantage with its multitude of pass-rushers. The Browns do not have to sack the quarterback all night, but providing pressure helps.

The good news is the Browns will find a few areas to exploit along the Denver offensive line from the jump. Will the Broncos adjust at halftime to overcompensate? Potentially, but the Browns’ pass-rush will be too hot for Pat Shurmur’s offense to handle. This will be the single reason why the Browns are able to stay in this game, despite being so incredibly limited on offense this week.

As far as overall team stats are concerned, let’s say the Browns get somewhere around 2.5 sacks on Thursday night. The pass rush will also force a throw out prematurely from a collapsing pocket that will result in a timely interception. As long as the Browns can continually get pressure on the opposing quarterback, they should be in decent shape to end their losing streak at two games.

Do not be surprised if the home crowd gives the Browns’ pass rush the extra spark it is in need of.
