Tua Tagovailoa is mature enough to be the New York Giants’ next quarterback

Let’s be real. The New York Giants stink, and everybody is getting fired at the end of the year. Daniel Jones is not the answer at quarterback for them. Dave Gettleman should not get another draft to screw up. And Joe Judge is closer to Ben McAdoo than he is to Tom Coughlin. Simply put, the Giants are utterly horrendous and will be embarking on yet another rebuild this offseason.

So why would the Giants want Tagovailoa? Though he is very injury-prone, there are two things Tagovailoa possesses that will do wonders in New York: He is a very accurate passer who does not turn the football over and he is mature beyond his years. His personality would work playing in the nation’s biggest media market. As far as accuracy is concerned, it is a trait worth building around.

With Miami looking to trade for Watson, the Dolphins would not really have any interest in Jones, other him being a highly paid backup. New York may not want to give up its precious first-round pick in next year’s draft for Tagovailoa, but what other options do they have at quarterback? Unless the Giants love Matt Corral or Desmond Ridder, they cannot do worse than Tagovailoa.

The most important thing the Giants need is culture, and Tagovailoa can be a cornerstone for that.
