3. Games of the week: Clemson Tigers (4-2) at No. 23 Pittsburgh Panthers (5-1)

This ACC game between the Clemson Tigers and the Pittsburgh Panthers is both more interesting and less interesting than it was at the start of the year. Clemson is not good, and will not make the playoff. As for Pitt, this might be the best team in the ACC. Had they not lost a dumb one to Western Michigan, the Panthers would be a playoff contender, especially if they did beat Clemson.

2. Games of the week: No. 8 Oklahoma State Cowboys (6-0) at Iowa State Cyclones (4-2)

A sneaky-good game in Big 12 country is happening when Iowa State hosts undefeated Oklahoma State. While the Cyclones have two losses on the year, these are still two of the four best teams in the Big 12. If the Cowboys win at Jack Trice, they might be good enough to win in Bedlam and push for a playoff spot. However, Matt Campbell’s program knows how to beat Mike Gundy’s team.

1. Games of the week: No. 10 Oregon Ducks (5-1) at UCLA Bruins (5-2)

There is a reason ESPN’s College GameDay is going to Pasadena. Though UCLA is not ranked, the Bruins might be the best team in the Pac-12 South. Their Week 7 home game vs. the Pac-12 North favorite Oregon Ducks could be a precursor to the conference title bout in Las Vegas. While a Bruins win eliminates the Pac-12 from the playoff once again, Chip Kelly’s team will have arrived.

Here is to these five games being as good in reality as they do look like on paper this week.
