Fantasy Football: 5 bold predictions for Week 7
By Nick Villano
Prediction #2: Matthew Stafford leads all QBs this week
Matthew Stafford has been fine this season. He was drafted to be one of the best fantasy quarterbacks after he was traded to the Los Angeles Rams in the offseason. He was even getting MVP hype. Stafford is still having a very good season through the air with 16 touchdowns and just 4 interceptions.
Stafford has had three weeks over 20 points and three weeks under 20 points this season. He never had a disastrous Daniel Jones-like performance on the field, but he only has two major point outputs. He just put up four touchdowns on the New York Giants.
This week, Stafford is facing the Detroit Lions, his former team. Jared Goff is going through a quarterback controversy because of his lack of success on the field, so Stafford can come in and really show the Lions what they are missing. They didn’t have the typical messy divorce, but Stafford will still be very motivated to score early and often against his former team.
Stafford’s season has just largely fallen under the radar. Everyone talks about Aaron Rodgers yelling at Chicago Bears fans or Patrick Mahomes’ usual heroics, but Stafford is out here just throwing four touchdowns on the Giants’ defense. This week, that changes. Stafford will put up a ridiculous performance that has him getting close to 35-40 points on the fantasy score sheet.
