Prediction #4: Sam Darnold bounces back in his old home

Sam Darnold was a must-start for teams in two-quarterback leagues, and he was considered startable for a few weeks even in one quarterback leagues. He seemed to find his rightful home in Carolina, and the team was finally finding the right balance for the former top-five draft pick. Darnold came into this season with very few expectations in terms of fantasy.

The Panthers aren’t considered a top offense, especially when Christian McCaffrey is out. McCaffrey won’t return this week, but maybe the Panthers can finally put a good offense together. Darnold has been dreadful for the past two weeks. Darnold threw 41 times, but it was the second week in a row he averaged five yards or less per attempt.

The Panthers are clearly trying to run their offense through Darnold with McCaffrey out of the picture. It hasn’t worked out. However, Darnold is good enough to put something together against a bad team. The Giants are a bad team, especially against opposing passing teams. Darnold is going back to MetLife Stadium after he spent most of his career as a starter there. Now, he’s looking to revamp his season. He had two really good weeks before these past two duds, so he just needs to throw out of his funk. The Giants are a perfect place to do that.
