10 TE sleepers to target for fantasy football Week 7
By Jakob Ashlin
8. Mo Alie-Cox, Indianapolis Colts
Rostered: 10.1%
Like C.J. Uzomah, Mo Alie-Cox is a touchdown-dependent option in lineups. Over his past three games, Alie-Cox has a total of seven receptions and three touchdowns.
Fellow Colts’ tight end Jack Doyle started the season with a larger role, as he had 12 targets across his first two games. However, Alie-Cox has clearly passed Doyle on the depth chart. Doyle has been targeted once in each of the last three games.
Given his recent performances, I would not be surprised to see Alie-Cox in the end zone again this Sunday. Like Uzomah, he is a solid flier, if the next seven players are not available in your league.
7. Cole Kmet, Chicago Bears
Cole Kmet had a solid game against the Packers last week with four receptions for 49 yards. The 2020 second-round pick is a talented player, and he appears to be the third option in Chicago’s passing game behind Darnell Mooney and Allen Robinson.
Unfortunately, the Bears’ offense has struggled overall, but this week’s matchup against the Buccaneers could be perfect for Kmet.
The Bears should be playing from behind for the majority of the game forcing Justin Fields to throw the ball frequently. This season, the Bears have the second-fewest passing attempts in the NFL, which has limited Kmet’s upside. Last week with a tough matchup against the Packers, Fields set a new career-high in passing attempts, and Kmet’s production subsequently rose.
Kmet could find success against the Buccaneers’ defense, who have allowed the ninth-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends this season.
