10 TE sleepers to target for fantasy football Week 7
By Jakob Ashlin
6. Anthony Firkser, Tennessee Titans
Rostered: 5.2%
Anthony Firkser has been an underwhelming fantasy option through the first six weeks of the season. He has failed to produce a single double-digit fantasy point performance, so far. However, I am optimistic about him this week.
The Chiefs’ defense has struggled to contain tight ends; they are allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends this season. Additionally, they have given up the most receiving yards to tight ends this season.
Julio Jones is listed as questionable with a hamstring injury. If Jones is out, Firkser could see an increased workload.
Either way, Firkser has a prime opportunity for a big game against the Chiefs’ defense.
5. O.J. Howard, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Rostered: 2.6%
Out of nowhere, O.J. Howard exploded for a 16.9-point fantasy performance last week against the Eagles. Howard recorded six receptions for 49 yards and a touchdown on seven targets. Prior to that game, Howard had been targeted six total times this season.
Rob Gronkowski is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game, and he missed Wednesday’s practice. However, O.J. Howard is also listed as questionable, and he also missed Wednesday’s practice.
So, there are a few scenarios that could take place here. If Gronkowski is out and Howard plays, Howard is an excellent streaming option. If Gronkowski plays, Howard should not be in fantasy lineups. If Gronkowski and Howard are both out, that is a perfect segue into the next entry on this list.
