2. Lane Kiffin

One of the most creative and talented offensive minds in college football would be a welcome sight for anyone that is a fan of this Miami Hurricanes team. Despite what looks like strong talent levels across the offensive depth chart, the team constantly struggles on that side of the ball. Right now Miami ranks 76th in total offensive yards per game and 77th in points per game. This is after the team went out and got Rhett Lashlee two seasons ago to wake up the offense and compliments Diaz’s typically strong defense.

Those statistics are one of the reasons a dream candidate to wear orange and green next season is Lane Kiffin. Currently the head coach of the Ole Miss Rebels, Kiffin is known for his high-powered offenses and prowess as a recruiter.

Former All-American Warren Sapp and Miami legend Uncle Luke are just two of the names campaigning to bring Kiffin to The U. Campbell wrote in Miami New Times about his preference for the offensive coach to take over for Diaz as soon as possible. He even states that Kiffin has former Hurricanes players on the sideline with him when Kiffin was the head coach of FAU.

Sapp meanwhile tweeted a reply that they are “working on it” when asked by a fan about bringing Kiffin to Miami.

Count me as one of the few that finds it hard to believe that Miami would pony up the money needed to get Kiffin a contract and his buyout at Ole Miss. Never mind if Kiffin would want to leave an Ole Miss program that is currently ranked inside the top-15. One draw could be the recruiting bubble that is South Florida, and his current team failing to land anywhere near the Hurricanes recruiting rankings despite the team’s struggles.
