7. James Conner, Arizona Cardinals

James Conner is a fantasy running back that is touchdown-dependent, but he keeps scoring. He has five touchdowns in his last four games, and he actually ran for 71 yards last week. He’s a serviceable running back even when he’s not the scoring focal point of the Cardinals offense.

Conner is clearly the goalline back for the Cardinals, and Kyler Murray is going to get them in the red zone over and over again. Murray’s ability is going to help Conner owners win games. This is not great news for Chase Edmonds owners, who only got four carries last week. He’s still dealing with a shoulder injury, but he did average more than 10 yards per carry last week. Conner is the much better bet here.

6. Sony Michel, Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams are facing the Detroit Lions. Darrell Henderson is an obvious start in this matchup. He’s one of the top options against a Lions team that just can’t stop opposing running backs. Teams are scoring just under 32 fantasy points per game just from the running back position. The Lions have allowed a total of 12 touchdowns to running backs already this season.

The Rams have enough juice to get both its running backs on the fantasy scoreboard. Michel has had 20 carries total over the last two weeks, so he is getting some opportunities. The Rams might be running up a storm on Detroit, so Michel might get even more opportunities. If he gets any goalline carries at all, a touchdown is likely.
