Packers cornerback Chandon Sullivan knew the perfect way to celebrate his interception against Washington: He gave the ball to his father.

There’s something about having family in the stands that makes some guys step up their play.

Chandon Sullivan is one of those guys apparently.

The Packers cornerback put in an excellent performance against the Washington Football Team, even nabbing his first interception of the season.

It was a particularly special moment for Sullivan because his father was there watching his son play live in the NFL for the first time.

“Proud Grandfather!!” Sullivan added in another tweet.

Chandon Sullivan shared a heartwarming moment with his father

What an awesome moment for a guy whose place in the league has never been entirely secure.

Sullivan was an undrafted free agent out of Georgia State in 2018. He signed with the Eagles but ended up on the practice squad as a rookie when he didn’t make the roster coming out of training camp. He ended up playing in five games and making one start that season.

In 2019 he signed with the Packers. He’s made 38 appearances and 12 starts since he arrived, grabbing one interception in 2019 and 2020 each.

On Sunday, Sullivan had four tackles, a pass break up and that interception.

His dad picked a perfect day to watch him in person. Green Bay is on a six-game winning streak, riding that confidence to a 24-10 victory over WFT. Aaron Rodgers tossed three touchdowns while the defense made life impossible for Washington quarterback Taylor Heinicke.
