1. His tactics are far too negative

Tottenham should not be slaves to their club’s motto “To Dare is To Do” but they should aim to play something at least resembling attacking football. Nuno’s dreadful, slow-moving tactics are a slap in the face to the sort of football Spurs fans were told the club would try to play this season.

In fairness to Nuno, nothing about his past performances at either Wolves or Valencia really suggested that he’d built Tottenham into an attacking powerhouse. His best Wolves teams were squarely built on the counterattack. His best Valencia side was marginally more positive but was still more of an end-to-end threat as compared to a team that could dominate possession for long stretches of time.

Spurs have the personnel required to dominate possession against non-elite teams. The side’s inability to do so against inferior Premier League and European competition is a massive indictment on Nuno’s tactics.

It’s time for Tottenham to start to build for the future. There’s no way Spurs are going to become Premier League title contenders under a negative manager like Nuno. His tactics are boring, outdated, and must be sent out of North London at the earliest opportunity.
