5 bold predictions for Browns against Steelers
By John Buhler
1. Baker Mayfield will outplay Ben Roethlisberger en route to a Browns victory
Even if he is being rushed back onto the field to some extent, Mayfield will play one of his better games of the season. Knowing he will not be close to full strength, Mayfield will play within himself and try not to force things he otherwise would if he was at 100 percent. If he has Chubb in the backfield and Johnson plays anywhere close to that again, it should be no problem for him.
As far as how he will play when compared to the future Pro Football Hall of Famer he will be going up against on the other sideline, Mayfield will play better than Roethlisberger because he will not turn the football over. It will be more of a game manager performance out of Mayfield, but that may be good enough to beat a Steelers team that is not exactly humming this football season.
In terms of an overall stat line, look for Mayfield to complete just over 60 percent of his passes for around 225 yards and two passing touchdowns. Add in the 150 yards rushing Cleveland will be getting on the ground and the timely turnover or two from the defense, the Browns will have just enough to edge out the visiting Steelers for a one-score victory to get to 5-3 on the campaign.
Mayfield will find a way to prove his doubters wrong when it comes to returning from injury early.
