There are so many great games to watch on the college football schedule in Week 9.

The college football universe always finds a way to make each weekend compelling, one way or another.

Though last week’s slate of games did not exactly move the needle upon first glance, several of them more than lived up to the hype. With several high-stakes games on the horizon and several with plenty of College Football Playoff ramifications on the line, the Week 9 schedule is absolutely loaded. It will be so hard to pick and choose what games will be the best of the best on Saturday.

Here are five games on the Week 9 slate that should have a viewer’s interest on a national level.

Best college games this week to watch this weekend

5. Games of the week: No. 19 SMU Mustangs (7-0) at Houston Cougars (6-1)

There are a few games vying for this No. 5 spot, but there is a very interesting one going down in The American in primetime between SMU and Houston. While the Mustangs are undefeated and are seen as the biggest challenger to Cincinnati in the conference, Houston is really starting to cook under head coach Dana Holgorsen. The Cougars are 6-1 heading into their Week 9 game.

4. Games of the week: No. 10 Ole Miss Rebels (6-1) at No. 18 Auburn Tigers (5-2)

A sneaky-good game is going down in the SEC West on Saturday night, as the No. 18 Auburn Tigers host the No. 10 Ole Miss Rebels. Though both teams have conference losses on the season, Auburn controls its own destiny, as the Tigers only SEC loss is to cross-divisional rival Georgia. As for Ole Miss, the Rebels could potentially go 11-1 and have an outside shot at getting to Atlanta.

While these games are compelling, these other ones have been circled on the calendar for months.
