The Patriots have clearly given up on former first-round pick N’Keal Harry and are reportedly looking to move him on. They should also be in the market to give rookie quarterback Mac Jones a boost with a go-to receiver.

Thomas would instantly upgrade the solid corps of Jakobi Meyers, Kendrick Bourne and Nelson Agholor. He would give the Patriots some serious juice for a potential playoff run as well.

Critically, he would undoubtedly help the development of Jones. Now that they’re all in on the young QB, they owe it to him to give him every chance at succeeding. He needs more weapons to successfully fill Tom Brady’s shoes.

The price would be steep, of course. However, a package involving Harry, a player at a position of need for the Saints and some draft picks could get it done. Stephon Gilmore would have been an intriguing piece to discuss but that ship has sailed with the cornerback heading to the Panthers.
