Miami Dolphins: Texans’ QB Deshaun Watson

This is an obvious one here. With the trade rumors heating to boiling hot levels within the past week, it seems that the Miami Dolphins are the team to beat right now in the Deshaun Watson sweepstakes. It’s been speculated about for months, but with the deadline quickly approaching, it could finally happen.

The obvious conundrum here is Watson’s legal problems. The NFL’s ongoing investigation into the countless allegations against Watson doesn’t appear to have an end in sight. However, he’s not on the Commissioner’s Exempt List, so he is allowed to play football. He’s been a healthy inactive for Houston as all of this drama has unfolded.

The Dolphins would be taking a massive, franchise-altering risk if they trade for Watson and give Houston what they are asking for. But the reward if everything clears out is a potential future Hall of Fame quarterback on your squad. This situation is far from over, but it appears Miami is the front-runner for Watson.
