2. NFL teams that should be on upset alert in Week 8 – Dallas Cowboys

It turns out a healthy Dak Prescott and some defensive improvements were all it took for the Dallas Cowboys to become a major threat in the NFC. Dallas has raced out to a 5-1 start, putting themselves in firm command of the NFC East after their Week 7 bye.

Expectations have now risen for the Cowboys, who are just a game back of the Arizona Cardinals for home field advantage throughout the playoffs. It will certainly be interesting to see how Dallas looks after its bye with another tricky road matchup on tap against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football.

The Vikings have an enigma so far this season as they have played in plenty of close games with five of their six contests being decided by one possession. Running back Dalvin Cook also figures to be healthier for this contest after getting to rest his ankle after Minnesota’s Week 7 bye, which will make life much more difficult for the Cowboys.

Dallas is favored by 2.5 points in this contest, a sign that the oddsmakers feel like this game will be far closer than people think. It will be imperative for the Cowboys to play much better than they did in New England in order to avoid getting upset on the road.
