8. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Watching a battle between a Mack Brown-led program and a Brian Kelly-led program was a treat and not a trick as Notre Dame and UNC played an entertaining game on Halloween weekend. With the win and the losses in front of them, the Fighting Irish should move up.

Notre Dame is hoping for a little love when the first College Football Playoff rankings come out but it won’t be surprising to see them slip inside the top 10. Notre Dame’s final four games are very forgiving as well.

7. Oregon Ducks

The Ducks might get jumped one spot by virtue of Michigan State’s massive win, but that’s not a knock on them. Oregon put forth an impressive effort as it blew out Colorado at home. The Ducks are the best program in the conference right now.

Oregon will have some tests up coming with battles against Washington State, Utah, and Oregon State on tap. Somehow someway, the Cougars have four Pac-12 wins. Oregon just needs to take care of business in that game and against Oregon State and a trip to Las Vegas for the Pac-12 title game is likely in the fold.
