The New Orlean Saints rode quite the emotional roller coaster on Sunday. While quarterback Jameis Winston was knocked out of the game after suffering a concerning knee injury, the Saints went on to defeat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 36-27.

Following the game, Winston was spotted in the Saints locker room dancing with his teammates after the win, despite being on crutches. The video was taken on defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson’s Instagram Live.

Sean Payton fears significant knee injury for Jameis Winston

While seeing Winston dance on crutches after the game may have you wondering if the severity of the injury is not high enough, head coach Sean Payton will have you second-guessing yourselves. Following the game, Payton told the media that he believes that Winston suffered a significant knee injury.

The injury occurred in the first half when he was brought down by Buccaneers linebacker Devin White. In the process of being brought down by the right arm, his left knee twisted in an awkward fashion, leading him being helped off the field by members of the Saints training staff. After a trip to the medical tent, Winston was carted to the locker room.

Prior to exiting Sunday’s game, Winston completed 6-of-10 of his passes for 56 yards and a touchdown.

That is certainly something that will have Saints fans worried as they await word on the official diagnosis for Winston. We will keep you updated on Winston’s status once details are provided.
