Raiders bold predictions, Clelin Ferrell

2. Clelin Ferrell, Los Vegas Raiders

Staying on the defensive line, the Cowboys could take a swing at a former top-ten pick that has fallen out of favor in his current club. Clelin Ferrell is in a similar situation as Ingram. He has lost playing time to Yannick Ngakoue and Maxx Crosby in Los Vegas this season.

The former number four overall draft pick in the 2019 NFL Draft has been labeled a bust in his short career thus far. He has totaled only 6.5 sacks in his 32 career games. His name has been consistently floated in trade talks since being a healthy scratch in Week 1 this season.  A change of scenery may do wonders for the still young player.

Ferrell has flashed at times for Los Vegas but has not been consistent enough to warrant playing over other edge rushers on the team. While he may not have deserved the top-five draft selection, there is talent there that is still untapped.

Dallas has taken swings on similarly talented players such as Malik Hooker, who also was a high draft pick but not in the long-term plans of his former club. Ferrell is still on his rookie deal as well, so the price tag financially would not be high. The Cowboys could likely get him for a late-day-three pick in next year’s draft. This is a flyer-type move that recently has paid off for Dallas.
