Stephon Gilmore will get revenge on his former team

The last year has been a strange one for Stephon Gilmore. He missed a lot of time due to injury, he wanted a big contract extension, and his name was constantly floating around trade rumors. Ultimately, the All-Pro was dealt earlier this season to Carolina.

Mac Jones went 18-of-35 last week against the Chargers, good for a completion percentage of just 52 percent. With the Panthers defense emerging as a top ten unit this season, New England will struggle offensively. The lack of run game will lead to the Patriots passing more frequently than they would like.

Gilmore had a great four year stint in New England. During his time with the team he went to four Pro Bowls, made two All-Pro teams, and won a Super Bowl. The former Patriot would love to get an interception off the hands of the rookie out of Alabama.

The Panthers front seven will be swarming to Jones all afternoon. The Patriots have kept him somewhat clean this season. Jones has been sacked 15 times through seven games. That said, the Panthers have a good pass rush, ranking fourth in the NFL with 21 sacks. A steady pass rush will make Jones ansty and force a mistake, where Gilmore will be waiting to capitalize.
