College football upset pick Week 10, No. 3: Texas A&M

Rank: 14 | Opponent: vs. Auburn | Time: Saturday, Nov. 6, 3:30 p.m. ET

Auburn is playing spoiler now. This is the best game of the weekend, and right now the line has Texas A&M as a 4.5 point favorite. The Tigers are coming off the major upset of Ole Miss right after knocking Arkansas out of the Top 25 rankings. Bo Nix played extremely well, and the Auburn offense is finally living up to the hype.

Texas A&M has been living off the momentum of their Alabama win for the two ensuing weeks with a clinic against Missouri and a pretty easy win against South Carolina. They haven’t faced a close matchup since Alabama’s unsuccessful comeback, but they had the week off last week. The momentum has slowed down and the Aggies players had a little time to go Trick or Treating. That did give them plenty of time to prepare for Auburn, but it also took them out of their rhythm.

This one is going to be a dog fight that will live and die on big plays. If the Aggies can find a way to move the ball with consistency, then it could lead to a win. However, Auburn has done a masterful job of keeping opposing offenses out of the endzone, especially in the second half. In their last three SEC games (road vs. LSU, road vs. Arkansas, and home vs. Ole Miss), they’ve given up 22 total points, or just over 7 points per half. This gives Auburn a chance to win every time. If they can do that again this week, and Texas A&M can only score 7 second-half points, Auburn is going to week.
