10 TE sleepers to target for fantasy football Week 9
By Jakob Ashlin
4. Evan Engram, New York Giants
Rostered: 25.5%
Evan Engram has been hard to trust this season, but he has quietly built momentum with double-digit fantasy point performances over the past two games. Prior to that, Engram had not produced double-digit fantasy points in any game this season.
He has a favorable matchup this Sunday against the Raiders’ defense, which is allowing the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends this season.
With a good matchup and a significant role in the Giants’ offense, Engram is a borderline TE1 this week, and he is a nice streaming option.
3. C.J. Uzomah, Cincinnati Bengals
Rostered: 26.2%
C.J. Uzomah has been one of the biggest surprises in fantasy football this season. From Week 4 to Week 7, he had an unbelievable run, in which he scored five touchdowns in four games.
Uzomah finally cooled off last week; he had four receptions for 33 yards and zero touchdowns. Nevertheless, that performance was not discouraging. Uzomah had a total of only four receptions across his first three games, but his four-reception performance last week was another sign that his increased role in Cincinnati’s offense is here to stay.
He is a streaming option with a good amount of upside.
