Derrick Gore won’t be a one-game wonder

Derrick Gore was the talk of Kansas City against the Giants. He scored a touchdown and came away with 48 yards on 11 rushes.

It was an impressive debut for an unheralded prospect who spent most of the last two years bouncing around practice squads.

The Chiefs probably should have used him more in the second half too. After an outstanding second quarter, he was limited to just three carries after the break. Clearly, he has more to give the offense.

The Packers have been vulnerable to the run at times, giving up 100 yards on the ground five times this year. They are 29th in the NFL giving up 4.7 yards per carry.

Gore could be the key to Kansas City opening up their offense. It’s time to buy into the run game with Gore and Darrel Williams to take the pressure off of Patrick Mahomes. And this time don’t go away from it.
