4. Ohio State Buckeyes

With Michigan State going down, the Buckeyes should find their way back into the top four. Like many opponents have had to learn this year, you don’t leave Lincoln with an easy win. Ohio State was tested but prevailed on the road against Nebraska.

Now, the Buckeyes are in a prime position. If they win out, it’s hard to see the College Football Playoff keeping them out. We know the way the committee thinks in regards to the playoffs and the AP should move them up as well.

3. Oregon Ducks

Despite a slow start, the Oregon Ducks rounded into form and took down Washington. The Ducks shocked everyone when they showed up in the first College Football Rankings in the top four, it’s likely the AP reflects that as well this week.

With Michigan State losing this week, Oregon could jump up to the No. 3 spot. It all sounds crazy, but that first playoff ranking is likely to lead to ramifications in all polls. Maybe the AP will go the other way and put them on the outside.
