College football rankings 2021: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 11 after Alabama & Ohio State survive, Michigan State & Wake Forest lose
18. Houston Cougars
After a shootout against SMU, Houston found itself having another round at South Florida. Ultimately, the Cougars were able to escape on the road and pick up the win. They made their way into the Top 25 last week.
This week, they might even pick up a spot. An upcoming battle against Temple might allow the Cougars to put some style points on the board. Houston also has a clear path to double-digit wins in the regular season.
17. Iowa Hawkeyes
After getting blasted against Wisconsin, Iowa was in need of a game it could control. Fortunately, Northwestern was on the schedule for the Hawkeyes. Iowa wasn’t a juggernaut on offense, but defensively it played the way it was expected.
Iowa’s path to Indianapolis is likely doomed with Purdue and Wisconsin ahead in the standings, but crazier things have happened. The Hawkeyes do have two opponents in Illinois and Nebraska that it can’t take lightly.
