6. Oklahoma Sooners

The first College Football Playoff rankings were an indictment of Oklahoma. The rankings had it eighth while the AP had it fourth. Oklahoma is probably somewhere in the middle of that if the AP decides to reflect the CFP more.

The Sooners had the week off but now have a road contest coming up against Baylor. That’s not an easy game and Oklahoma knows it has to go undefeated to make the College Football Playoff this season. Oklahoma wins out, then it likely gets the respect it deserves in both polls.

5. Cincinnati Bearcats

The most interesting team to follow in the AP rankings this week is Cincinnati. They entered the week second but only sixth in the CFP. Will the AP Top 25 course correct and everything and move the Bearcats down a few spots?

It’s certainly possible for one main reason. The Bearcats have played with their food for three straight weeks against incredibly subpar opponents. Cincinnati needs style points and is not getting them in its wins. The Bearcats are undefeated, but the last few weeks haven’t been the strongest impression.
