The Deamon Deacons lost a high-scoring affair against North Carolina, 58-55, by giving up 24 points in the fourth quarter. Their first defeat of the season will send them tumbling out of the Top 10.
Ohio State is in a more complicated situation. They struggled to get by Nebraska but ultimately held on for a 25-17 win. It was far from pretty and might be the kind of performance against a lesser opponent that results in punishment from the CFP committee.
However, Cincinnati actually jumping them up to No. 5 depends on the Bearcats putting on a show against Tulsa.
As for Georgia, they don’t look like giving up their No. 1 ranking any time soon. They used both Stetson Bennett and JT Daniels at quarterback while rolling 43-6. That defense looks immense while the offense seems capable of scoring points no matter who is running the show.
