2. Top fantasy football pickups for Week 10 – Baltimore Ravens RB Devonta Freeman

Trying to predict who will top the Baltimore backfield is about as easy as trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. The Ravens have rotated their running backs all year long, but Devonta Freeman took a big step forward towards leading the committee this week.

With Latavius Murray sidelined due to an ankle injury, Freeman led all Ravens’ running backs in carries, racking up 13 for 79 yards, good for 6.1 yards per carry. Freeman also caught two passes for four yards and a score, delivering a playable RB2 fantasy day for anyone who started him.

The good news here is that Baltimore, a legitimate AFC Super Bowl contender, is committed to running the ball a lot, meaning Freeman has flex value if he’s in line for a lot of work. The issue is that Lamar Jackson will also be heavily involved in the ground game (he carried 21 times for 120 yards in Baltimore’s 34-31 overtime win) while Le’Veon Bell is still a factor, recording 11 carries for 48 yards while getting the rushing touchdown.

The potential return of Murray in Week 10 could lead to more dilution of the carries but Freeman has performed well enough to be the presumptive head of this committee. Freeman is rostered in just 19 percent of Yahoo leagues but should be targeted for anyone in need of help at running back.
